Non-Discrimination and Fairness Policy

Policy:

NCCAA is committed to providing a work and volunteer environment that is free from discrimination and harassment. The NCCAA does not unlawfully discriminate internally (in its administrative and program operations) or externally (in provision of services) on the basis of race, political orientation, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, national origin, ethnicity, ancestry, marital status, veteran status, or mental or physical disability or any other status prohibited by applicable law.

Scope:

This policy applies to all aspects of employment, volunteering, provision of services, and interactions with clients, vendors, and the public.

Prohibited Conduct:

Discriminatory conduct, including but not limited to harassment, unequal treatment, or retaliation against individuals who assert their rights under this policy, is strictly prohibited.

Reporting:

Any individual who believes they have been subjected to discrimination or harassment in violation of this policy, or who has witnessed such conduct, should report the incident promptly. Reports can be made to NCCAA directly at contact@nccaa.org. NCCAA is committed to ensuring that individuals feel comfortable coming forward with their concerns, and all reports will be handled with sensitivity and confidentiality to the extent permitted by law.

Investigation:

NCCAA will promptly and thoroughly investigate any complaints of discrimination, harassment, or retaliation. Investigations will be conducted in a fair and impartial manner. Individuals involved in the investigation process will be provided an opportunity to present their perspective.

Violations:

Violations of this nondiscrimination policy may result in disciplinary actions, up to and including termination of employment or removal from volunteer positions.

Legal Compliance:

NCCAA is committed to complying with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding nondiscrimination and equal opportunity.

Review:

This nondiscrimination and fairness policy will be periodically reviewed and updated as necessary to ensure its effectiveness and compliance with evolving laws and best practices.

Effective Date:

This policy is effective as of August 20, 2024.
